The Office of Public Affairs is the central communications organization of the University of Pittsburgh. Strategically and tactically, the office manages the reputation of the University by publicizing the progress and momentum of Pitt's people, programs, initiatives, and events through traditional mass communications vehicles as well as social media. The office targets various external publics including the national, regional, and local news media; prospective students and their advisors; government officials, higher-education administrators and faculty members; alumni; donors and donor prospects; and the broader community.
Internally, the office communicates the University's messages and announcements to faculty, administrators, and staff, as well as to students.
